ASPENESFIELD GUIDE

About

About Aspenes

Aspenes is an independent educational field guide to the trees of the world. Each species is presented in seven short sections: an overview, where it grows, how to identify it, how it grows and how long it lives, its ecology and wildlife, its uses and cultural significance, and a set of frequently asked questions.

The goal is plain language. We write for anyone who wants to recognise and understand a tree — whether it is an oak in a northern wood, a baobab on a dry savanna, or a cherry blossom in a city park.

The guide is organised into five biomes — Temperate Deciduous, Conifers & Evergreens, Tropical & Palms, Mediterranean & Arid, and Flowering & Ornamental — so readers can browse by region or jump straight to a species.

Aspenes is run independently and does not sell plants, timber, or seeds, and does not accept payment for listings. Content is provided for general information and education only, and is not botanical, agricultural, or medical advice.
